JCB CEO Designate Graeme MacdonaldJCB has announced that Grame Macdonald will be the company’s next chief executive officer. Macdonald will succeed current CEO Alan Blake who will retire at the end of the year.
Macdonald, 45, was named CEO Designate on June 1. The company only recently made the announcement.
Macdonald has been with JCB for 16 years and worked his way up the ladder from directing the company’s backhoe business unit to his most recent position of chief operating officer.
In between, he served as President of JCB Inc based at the company’s North American headquarters in Savannah, Georgia.
Current CEO Blake, 63, has been with JCB since 1989. He became CEO in 2010 after leading what the company calls “the biggest production expansion in JCB’s history.”
The company credits Alan with leading it to “a return to sales and production growth against a backdrop of continued economic uncertainty around the world.”
Once Macdonald takes the reins, Blake will serve as Senior Advisor and Board Member of the company.
