Emphasizing that it’s not new to light equipment manufacturing, JCB has unveiled its light equipment line to the North American market. “We’ve been building some of this equipment for 28 years,” said Mike Werner, vice president, customer support. “This is not a testing ground.”

Stating that North America represents 27 percent of the total world market for light equipment, JCB is introducing a 32-model line of hydraulic power packs and hand tools, rammers, reversible plates and walk-behind compaction rollers. Hydraulic hand tools in the initial introduction include submersible and trash pumps, breakers, cut saws, and a two-man auger.

The hydraulic power pack range includes four models that because of their compact size can be easily stored, transported and moved around a jobsite. A power-on-demand system reduces off-load engine speeds to idle, resulting in lower noise levels, less engine wear and decreased fuel consumption.
