Japan leads world in robots

The country has 295 robots for every 10,000 manufacturing workers [1], ten times as many as the world average. Singapore and South Korea come in second and third. The United States rates ninth with 86 robots per 10,000 workers.
If you’re a small-time manufacturer or even a contractor with a lot of repetitive metal fabrications to produce, check out this page from Lincoln Electric [2]. I visited their factory this summer and was surprised at how affordable and do-able robotic welding is becoming.
