IronPlanet announced third quarter gross auction sales of $47 million. Overall, IronPlanet participants have bought and sold nearly $153 million of equipment since January 1, a growth of 30 percent over the same period last year.
During the third quarter IronPlanet averaged a global audience of more than 7,000 visitors per auction and 18 bidders per lot. International customers accounted for 30 percent of auction buyers.
IronPlanet maintained strong growth in its seller community as well. In the third quarter, 30 percent of sellers were using IronPlanet for the first time.
Also during the third quarter, IronPlanet named Gregory J. Owens as chairman and CEO.
