IPAF shares safety campaign
| January 18, 2012 |
The International Powered Access Federation will take its “Spread the load” safety campaign to the Intermat construction show from April 16-21 in Paris, France, where IPAF will be located in the Outdoor Area E2, Stand B064.
IPAF’s “Spread the load” campaign calls for the proper assessment of ground conditions when using mobile elevating work platforms and the correct use of stabilizers, outriggers and spreader plates to prevent accidents that cause fatalities each year.
IPAF will illustrate safety messages at its Intermat stand, where visitors can learn about the safe use of MEWPs. IPAF will also offer technical guidance, videos, stickers and posters at its stand.
As part of IPAF’s recently launched incident database to systematically collect worldwide data on accidents or incidents involving MEWPs in order to improve the safe use of equipment, the Federation will feature at Intermat its worldwide campaign to collect reports on all known MEWP accidents or incidents.
In addition to its campaign, IPAF will hold several events during Intermat, including the IPAF Manufacturers’ Technical Committee Meeting on April 20.
