Illinois Tollway awards $3.8 million in construction contracts in April

Illinois tollway signThe Illinois Tollway Board of Directors approved construction contracts valued at $3.8 million at its April meeting, bringing the yearly total for construction and engineering contracts to $132.9 million.

Total construction and engineering projects approved by the Illinois Tollway for the Move Illinois program has reached closed to $4.3 billion since the program began in 2012. This includes $989.6 million to small, veteran-owned or disadvantaged, minority- and women-owned businesses.

The most recent contracts include two subcontracters certified as disadvantaged, minority- and women-owned business enterprise firms. Twenty-three percent of the $3.8 million in this round of contracts is committed to disadvantaged firms.

The approved contracts include:

  • $2.5 million, John Burns Construction, Orland Park, Illinois. Salt dome repairs and construction at Illinois Tollway maintenance facilities systemwide.
  • $1.3 million, Lorig Construction, Des Plaines, Illinois. Repair and maintenance on nine bridges on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) and four bridges on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355).
