Illinois Tollway approves $41 million in contracts for November

Illinois tollway signThe Illinois Tollway has approved one contract for new construction and one for professional engineering services for November. The total value of the contracts is $41.1 million.

The Illinois Tollway board of directors as approved close to $328.2 million in such contracts so far this year.

The construction contract was awarded to Aldridge Electric of Libertyville, Illinois, for installing intelligent transportation systems equipment on the Illinois Route 390 Tollway between U.S. Route 20 and Illlinois Route 83. It is valued at $5.3 million

The professional engineering services contract went to Stantec Consulting Services/Terra Engineering of Chicago, Illinois, for design work on the new I-490 Tollway from south of Irving Park Road to County Line Road/Mount Prospect Road. This contract is valued at $35.8 million.

These contracts include one prime consultant, eight subconsultants and one subcontractor that are certified as disadvantaged, minority- and women-owned business enterprise. One subconsultant is a certified veteran-owned firm. Of the $41.1 million awarded for this month, nearly $17.4 million, or 42 percent, is committed to veteran-owned or disadvantaged firms, the tollway says.
