ICUEE 2009 promises more hands-on experience

The 2009 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) will feature a “Ride N Drive” track to give attendees the hands-on experience the show is known for. It will provide more than 20 educational programming sessions, more than 1 million square feet of exhibit space for more than 300 featured exhibitors, a field trip to an outer-loop landfill and hands-on working equipment demonstrations.

ICUEE attendees will also have access to the H20-XPO exposition, the iP Safety Conference and Expo and the IUV Technical Conference.

ICUEE 2009 will be held at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky, on October 6-8.

The Ride N Drive test track offers two miles of public road that circles around the conference center and allows attendees to test drive new on-road utility vehicles. Company personnel will ride with testers to answer questions and highlight different features in the test vehicles. Mostly Class 6 and Class 8 commercial vehicles will be available, along with some newer hybrid models. International Truck, Roadranger and Kenworth Truck are just a few of the participants in the exhibit, although the show expects more companies to join closer to the date of the show.

ICUEE will offer hands-on working equipment demonstrations for deep and shallow digging as well as aboveground and overhead demonstrations.

The show currently has more than 38 outdoor exhibits for hands-on experience with equipment and on-road vehicles.

“The equipment is exhibited in job-like conditions and attendees can experience first-hand machine capabilities to make product comparisons and see what machines work best for their job needs,” says Patricia Monroe, public relations manager, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).

Educational programming for ICUEE 2009 includes sessions on renewable energy, safety, gas, electric, water and wastewater, telecom, underground, equipment and fleet management and professional development issues. The access to the H20-XPO, iP Safety Conference and IUV Technical conference will allow attendees access to programming in any area of their industry and more than 120 options for programming sessions.

“The show offers more than ever before with the co-locations of other industry events to provide maximum ROI for participants,” says Monroe.

ICUEE will also feature the New Product and Technology Program, which allows users to search for products and technologies new to the industry.

The ICUEE 2009 website features a show planner that allows attendees to create a list of their favorite exhibits, programming sessions and hands-on demonstrations before they attend the show. Advance registration is available and saves 50 percent off the onsite fee. Advance registration for show education also saves attendees money and time.
