Hyundai 740-9A wheel loaderWith a fully automatic transmission designed for improved travel speed and clutch control, the new, 28,000-pound Hyundai HL740-9A wheel loader moves quicker and more efficiently for increased productivity.

The operator can customize the machine’s engine power, transmission shift points and clutch cut-off activation to suit personal preferences or job conditions. A rotary switch lets the operator choose engine modes as well: power, standard and economy.

The HL740-9A carries a 3-cubic yard bucket and hits the pile with a bucket breakout force of 24,000 pounds. A 156-horsepower Cummins engine with Tier 4 Interim emissions controls powers the unit.

An extended reach model is available for applications where a higher dump height is needed and the new loaders are also available in a tool carrier model with parallel lift.

The operator’s field of view has widened 17 percent. Overhead switches control boom kick out and bucket positioning, and an integrated load weighting system is viewable on the in-cab monitor.
