Hyundai has added to its new 9A series with the launch of its latest crawler excavator, the R260LC-9A. The machine features a Tier 4 Interim engine, improved hydraulics, a more comfortable cab and greater durability over previous models.
The excavator is powered by the Tier 4 Interim-compliant, 178-horsepower Cummins QSB6.7 with Direct Flow, an air filter that delivers better fuel economy.
The engine also features a variable speed fan clutch, a two-stage automatic deceleration system and a new economy mode. From an LCD display, operators can monitor engine performance and choose between Economy, Power and Standard modes which tailor the machine’s performance to the job at hand in order to conserve fuel.
The R260LC-9A has an operating weight of 56,880 pounds, a bucket digging force of 38,290 pound-feet and a maximum dig-depth of 23 feet.
Like the rest of its 9A series excavators, the cab of the R260LC-9A features a stronger frame. The cab also features joystick controls, a skylight, and is “fully customizable,” allowing the operator to adjust the seat, console and armrest settings.
The Hi-mate Remote Management System is also featured on the R260LC-9A. This allows access to the machine’s vital service and diagnostic information from any device with Internet access. From the web, Hi-mate users can remotely monitor daily reports outlining a machine’s location, working hours, fuel consumption and any maintenance needed.
