Granite Construction awarded $78 million rail project in California

Watsonville, Calif.-based Granite Construction has been awarded a $78 million contract by the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board of Caltrain for a rail project about 10 miles south of San Francisco in San Bruno, Calif.

The scope of the work consists of elevating Caltrain’s two mainline rails from South Linden Avenue to Scott Street with bridges over San Bruno, San Mateo and Angus Avenues to accommodate uninterrupted traffic at these intersections. Work will also include a new San Bruno station, reconstruction of surface streets, a new pump station and extensive signalization and communication systems for the new alignment.
