In his new role, Chalfa will be responsible for the vertically integrated construction operations (estimating and field project management) in San Diego and Western Riverside County. Mark will build the construction operations team to build work for pubic agencies and private sector clients.

“We are excited about the opportunities in San Diego and Western Riverside County that fit with our expertise – we hope to provide vertically integrated construction services using Rosemary’s Mountain Quarry and one day Liberty Quarry,” said Dave Donnelly, San Diego/Western Riverside County Area Manager, in a written press statement. “Mark [Chalfa] knows this market and brings his expertise in building teams to provide the highest quality of service to our customers.” Mark will office out of Murrieta and help build a team of engineers, estimators, and project managers for performing work in this market.

Chalfa has been employed with Granite for 13 years and has served in several roles including project engineer, rubber asphalt plants manager, and most recently as Indio area manager, Donnelly notes.

Chalfa graduated in 1997 from San Diego State University with a degree in civil engineering.  Chalfa and his wife, Kylie, along with their children will be relocating to the area this summer.
