GMC unveils 2017 Sierra HD All Terrain X, its most powerful off-roader yet thanks to new 6.6L Duramax

With the introduction of the 2017 Sierra HD All Terrain X, GMC has expanded its premium off-road package to all three of its pickup lines.

First introduced for the Sierra 1500 in February and followed by the midsize Canyon in August, the All Terrain X package adds a few performance-enhancing features along with several exterior tweaks. The 2017 Sierra HD will offer the most power of any All Terrain X truck thanks to a choice between a 6-liter gas V8 or GM’s beastly new 6.6L Duramax V8 diesel that brings 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft. of torque.

2017 GMC Sierra HDThe All Terrain X package will be available this fall and will be offered on Sierra 2500HD crew cab 4WD pickups in Black Onyx and Summit White. It is equipped with the Z71 off-road suspension package, an Eaton automatic locking rear differential and an underbody transfer case shield.

The truck rides on 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in LT275/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac MT-rated tires. The distinctive exterior features a body-color grille surround with All Terrain insert, body color door handles and bodyside moldings, 4-inch black sport side steps, a black sport bar mounted in the bed to support LED off-road driving lamps and black belt moldings, front bumper skid plate and B-pillars.

The Sierra HD All Terrain X also features an 8-inch touchscreen, remote-locking tailgate, remote start, rear vision camera, adjustable pedals, leather-appointed seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and wireless charging.
