The clunker law lives.  According to reports out today President Obama and democratic leaders have agreed to include a cash for clunkers ^[1]provision in the next energy bill. The provision would give new car buyers credits, somewhere in the neighborhood of $3,000 to $5,000, for turning in their old gas guzzlers when buying more fuel efficient replacements. Alas the only pickup trucks on the list so far are hybrids and four-cylinder versions. But look for a run on junk cars soon!
