Built Ford Tough® is the DNA engineered into every component that goes into a Ford truck. The Super Duty® frame is the foundation of its Built Ford Tough® capability, designed to help minimize flexing and twisting while maximizing strength and torsional stiffness. The crossmembers on the Super Duty® Chassis Cab frame are riveted, welded, or both, to optimize strength and capability. The steel C-channel rails and crossmembers are up to 6.7-mm thick. Yield strength is 36,000 psi. It’s easy to see why Super Duty® Chassis Cab delivers impressive towing and payload numbers – a maximum 16,000 lbs. conventional towing and a maximum 26,600 lbs. 5th-wheel towing with a maximum payload rating of 12,660 lbs. And it comes through in the performance of the Ford-built engines engineered for power, durability and efficiency. Ford engineers designed the power plants in the Ford Super Duty® Chassis Cab to deliver the performance, fuel efficiency and dependability you need for all the hard jobs you tackle every workday. They combine tremendous horsepower and torque with surprising fuel economy teamed with the innovative, heavy-duty TorqShift® transmission to deliver all of that power to the wheels efficiently.
