A construction worker at the Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge in New York City passed out on top of a pillar nearly 100 feet in the air and had to be rescued by firefighters.

According to Gothamist, the New York Fire Department brought out a 95-foot ladder to the Queens construction site September 29 to rescue the worker.

Officials haven’t said what caused the worker came to to pass out.

The FDNY tweeted out the photo on the right showing firefighters in the bucket of the ladder high above the rest of the construction site.

The department said the worker was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, but was stable, conscious and alert.

The bridge is currently under a $500 million renovation, and two new cable-stayed bridges are expected to be complete in 206 and 2019.
