The expansion of the Koch Nitrogen plant in Enid, Oklahoma, will begin in mid-September according to a report from the Enid News and Eagle. The $1.3 billion project will be the largest investment of capital in the history of Garfield County, according to the report, and one of the largest ever in Oklahoma.
Beyond that local impact, Koch Nitrogen plans on bringing in more than 1,000 contractors during the expansion project, an opportunity for contractors far outside of Oklahoma.
The 40-year-old facility is one of the largest fertilizer plants in North America and produces ammonia as well as both liquid and solid fertilizers. The expansion project will “increase annual ammonia production by more than 1 million tons,” the News and Eagle reports.
