LIVERMORE, Calif. – For almost a decade, Topcon Positioning Systems’ Millimeter GPS™ with LazerZone™ has been a standard for accuracy and productivity in grading and asphalt paving.
Now, the LazerZone precise positioning grade technology has been expanded to include concrete paving, providing high accuracy grade reference on the entire paving project.
Tony Vanneman, construction products marketing manager, said, “Millimeter GPS with LazerZone provides a superior level of horizontal and vertical accuracies, better than a conventional stringline. The inherent weaknesses in stringlines are set-up mistakes and the lines tend to sag from one stake to the other.
“Stringlines can be also very inconvenient on a busy job site,” he said. “Often times they get in the way of the haul trucks and other job site machines. Stringless systems eliminate that problem totally and create a work site that is clear of normal stringline obstructions.”
He said, “Contractors can eliminate stringlines because the LazerZone system can be used on multiple machines and grade checkers. Millimeter GPS with LazerZone also saves an incredible amount of time. There is no need for a lengthy set-up like a conventional stringline.”
Vanneman said, “Another huge benefit is a substantial and measureable increase in daily production by a paving crew. Contractors around the world report huge production increases by using this new system.”
Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc.
