Handy Hitch Mfg Inc. have just released their new concept in compaction, the Broons eCombi roller. Designed specifically for the Maintenance grading and resheeting of unsealed roads, One of the most important features of the eCombi is the ease of turning and backing the roller. Most drum/tyre combinations are not so easy to turn around on a narrow country road but the eCombi solves that problem brilliantly.
The eCombi compacts freshly graded surfaces with its centrally mounted steel roll drum or single row of smooth tread compactor tyres on the rear that can be hydraulically raised or lowered to suit the application of the machine.
The optional vibrating roll drum has a static linear load of 35kg/cm and a static weight per tyre of 778kg. It is powered hydraulically by the tow tractor and has a nominal amplitude of 1.5mm with a vibratory frequency of 33Hz.
The Handy Hitch Broons eCombi roller is built to the same exacting standards as all the other equipment in the Company’s range. A steel fabricated reinforced heavy duty frame surrounds a centrally mounted steel roll drum assembly. Designed to operate in the harshest conditions, components are generally sealed for life and protected against the entry of dust and dirt. The eCombi is engineered for minimal maintenance and ease of access.
As with all Handy Hitch machines the eCombi is simple to use and operator-friendly. The change from roll drum to tyres and back is easily controlled hydraulically from the cabin of the grader or tow tractor.
The eCombi has a compaction width of 2.0 metres on the roll drum and slightly wider on the tyres. The roll drum is 25mm thick and the standard non vibrating unit can be ballasted with water to increase its weight and compaction pressure.
