Ditch Witch enters keyhole coring market with Utilicor MTC100 attachment

Ditch Witch has entered the keyhole coring market with the MTC100 attachment created in partnership with Utilicor Technologies.

The Utilicor MTC100 fits on Ditch Witch’s SK series of compact skid steers to provide fast and less disruptive repairs on utility lines beneath roads and sidewalks. Utility lines can be fixed without having to bring in large excavating equipment. And because the work can be completed much faster than traditional means, roads don’t need to be closed as long.

If you’ve got a 5-gallon bucket, you’ve got dust control on Hilti DSH saws

Hilti’s new DSH-P water pump is designed to provide dust control for handheld saws on worksites devoid of a pressurized water source. The new product comes just days before federal crystalline silica dust-reduction rules are scheduled to take effect in the construction industry.

The pump comes with a 10-foot hose to place in a water bucket or other standing water source. The pump attaches to Hilti gas-powered DSH 700-X and 900-H handheld saws. It uses the saw’s power to pressurize water and prevent silica and other dust from entering the air.

Cat launches 986K loader with redesigned cab, STIC control

Calling the machine a “right-sized” loader, Caterpillar has introduced the 986K as a replacement to its legacy 988F.

The 986K weighs less and is shorter than Cat’s 988K loaders and the company says the machine is perfectly matched to load Cat 40- to 61-ton articulated and rigid-frame trucks. A new Aggregate Handler configuration features an 11-cubic-yard bucket with additional counterweight for high volume loading of highway trucks in fewer passes.

The machine also features a redesigned cab with Cat STIC steer and Cat’s Production Measurement system.
