Volvo offers a powerful line of double drum vibratory compactors. The DD70 and DD90 compactors offer superior adjustable vibration with an on/off speed setting of up to 2 miles per hour (3.2 kilometers per hour). This line of compactors also offers automatic reversing eccentric rotation and eight variable amplitude settings on each drum and dual vibration frequency settings.

Volvo double drun compactors have machine drums with chamfered drum edges. Consistent drum impact spacing is no problem with Volvo patented impact meter. The drum frames are designed to offer the operator visibility of the drum ends.

These units also include non-corrosive polyethylene water tanks that provide storage capacity from 205 to 260 gallons (776 to 984 liters) per machine. Each compactor in this line has two complete and independent water systems featuring triple filtration, four water pumps, four spray bars, and variable waterflow control. Water spray automatically starts when the compactor moves, and ends when the compactor stops.

A five-position rotatind operator seat and control console has been installed on all Volvo vibratory compactors in this line. The operator is provided with standard safety features like ROPS / FOPS and seat belt.
