The Terex TA35 (400 horsepower) and TA40 (450 horsepower) Generation-7 articulated haul trucks have a Detroit Diesel Series 60, Tier-3 engine and an Allison transmission. The TA35 weighs 139,506 pounds, offers a 35-ton payload and has a 27.5-cubic-yard heaped capacity. The TA40 weighs 151,579 pounds, offers a 40-ton payload and has a 30.3-cubic-yard heaped capacity. The trucks feature all-weld steel frames, automatic limited slip differentials in each axle, a front-end suspension system and a 45-degree steering radius.
