The Cat 572R Series 2 pipelayer has a Cat 3176C, 258-horsepower engine, 90,000-pound lift capacity and 70,206-pound operating weight. Its undercarriage includes an elevated sprocket design, and the final drives are above the work area. The finger tip control (FTC) combine steering, machine direction and gear selection, and the control functions can be simultaneously operated using one hand. The 527R’s single-stage torque divider changes load condition by providing torque multiplication.
