Ditch Witch JT1220 Mach 1
April 1, 2008

The Ditch Witch JT1220 Mach 1 horizontal directional drilling system is a productive 12,000-pound (53 kN) horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines. Even with high horsepower, it produces the least amount of noise — less than 100 dBA. Minimal noise allows contractors to work longer hours in congested commercial and residential areas. The JT1220 Mach 1 also features an innovative pipeloader design and strong, maneuverable undercarriage system. The entire package comes complete with drill unit, drill pipe, downhole tools, tracker, fluid system, and trailer. The JT1220 Mach 1’s less-aggressive, low-profile rubber tracks are designed to provide excellent traction while significantly reducing turf disturbance and asphalt or concrete marking. Tethered ground drive control optimizes operator vision while maneuvering the unit around the jobsite, and the optional cruise control feature allows the operator to be more productive during backreaming. The JT1220 Mach 1’s low, 10º setup angle makes shallow installations possible, and its relatively small footprint and 15-gpm (57 L/min) drilling fluid system allow the unit to install larger product in a wide variety of soil conditions. In hard soil, the JT1220 Mach 1 is particularly effective: its 1250-psi (86 bar) fluid pressure capacity allows constant flow at longer distances and provides for improved steering and greater productivity.
