With its 415 hp (309 kW) diesel engine and direct cutter drive, the new Terex RS446C Reclaimer/Stabilizer rivals the performance of 500-hp-class machines, while saving up to 30 percent on fuel costs. To increase operating flexibility, maximum cutting depth on the new reclaimer/stabilizer has been increased 25 percent to 20 in (508 mm). A two-stage engine drive and three-speed cutter transmission maximizes break-out forces for production rates reaching 155 fpm (47 mpm). The RS446C features a new true rear axle design for increased performance. Kingpins replace spindles at the wheels to allow the tires to pivot closer to the frame, reducing the machine’s turning radius to 14 ft (4.3 m), nearly 50 percent tighter than previous models.
