imagessafetyFive industry groups have joined to clarify what is required for general training and model-specific familiarization of aerial work platforms. The American Rental Association, Association of Equipment  Manufacturers, Associated Equipment Distributors, International Powered Access Federation and Scaffold Industry Associations have released a best practices document, available from each organization.  The document is designed to educate the industry on minimal general training guidelines for AWP equipment operators, emphasize the differences between general training and model-specific familiarization and clarify the minimum qualifications of the trainer.
