The Astec EarthPro DD-4045 horizontal directional drill packs a powerful 40,000 lbs. (18.14 Tonnes) thrust/pullback and 4,500 ft-lbs (6,101 N-m) rotary torque. Its two-speed carriage decreases cycle time when adding and removing pipe from the spindle at 140 ft./min. (42.67 m/min.) maximum. The DD-4045 features a CumminsÒ QSB4.5 turbocharged Tier 3 Stage IIIA diesel and charge air-cooled engine that produces 156 hp (116 Kw). A Quiet-PakÒ sound reduction system is standard. The ES LOKÒ exit-side lockout system works independently from locating equipment, providing flexibility for the drilling crew. A Zap Alert System is standard equipment. Each drill comes with safety mounts and an electrical grounding switch at the drillers console for added safety.
