Company: General Equipment Company

General Equipment Company’s FCS5 Rip-R-Stripper Series is part of its line of surface preparation equipment. The FCS5 Rip-R-Strippers are a hand-held alternative to General’s larger, walk-behind FCS16 Rip-R-Stripper, and are specifically designed for scraping floor coverings in confined spaces. With a cutting width of 5 inches, the FCS5 Series is ideal for use in closets, stairways, foyers and other small work areas where larger equipment is inefficient or difficult to maneuver. The Series includes two models: the FCS5AC and FCS5DC. The powerful FCS5AC is  powered by a 1.2 hp electric motor and cuts at a rate of 3,000 oscillations per minute. The FCS5DC is powered by a rechargeable 18-volt battery and cuts at a rate of 2,400 oscillations per minute.
