Cat 992G
November 15, 2007

The Cat 992G wheel loader provides a 24-ton payload with a 800-net-horsepower engine. The articulated-frame design features a high-torsion front frame and a modulus, box-section engine-end frame. Operators can choose from a variety of 15- to 16-yd3 capacity buckets, spade-edge buckets and heavy-duty mining buckets with different ground-engaging tools to match the job conditions. Replaceable wear plates on the bucket heel protect the bottom of the buckets. More than 90 percent of the 992G structure is robotically welded, and castings are also used in several areas. Internal and external members have been added to the rails in critical sections.
