The Cat D6K track-type tractor is powered by a 125-horsepower, Cat C6.6 ACERT engine with a common rail fuel system. The C6.6 uses a turbocharger fitted with a smart waste gate. The cooling system is a single-coolant unit including hydraulic oil cooler, radiator, ATAAC and fan installation. A standard electric fuel-priming pump is located in the primary fuel fitter base above the combined water separator/primary fuel fitter. The D6K features an electronically controlled hydrostatic drive system wih independent power and control of each track. The track-roller frames are welded and have a box-section design.
