MUSCATINE, IA (August 12,2008) – Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solution (BBTS) announced today that initial customer use data is now available for the Continuum C1073 reatread tire. The C1073 is designed for rigid dump trucks and haul applications. First available in February 2008, the tread is now in full manufacturing production.
“The initial retread tires built with Continuum C1073 tread recently reached the end of their life cycle in a coal mine application. The vehicles running thses tires operated under ectreme conditions at 600 hours per month,” says Mike Poirier, North American OTR Sales Manager, BBTS. “The Continuum retreads that this new retread tire design is providing 82 percent of the hours a new tire provides, but at jsut 60 percent of the price. This is good news for fleets who are interested in lowering their cost-per-hour of operation.”
The C1073 design emulates the Bridgestone VMTP new tire and is available for tire sizes 2100R25, 23.5R25, 2400R49, 26.5R25, 29.5R25 and 2700R49. Optimized for use on radial casings, this nin-directional design features an aggressive lug pattern for superior traction.
Continuum brand OTR retread materials are supplied by agreement through OTR retreaders. Continuum retread tire designs are used on a wide variety of equipment in the construction, mining, logging, utility and marine port industries.
