Caterpillar announced an integral dropbox transmission designed specifically for use in well-servicing workover rig applications. The new drop box arrangements complement the straight-thru drive transmissions previously announced for use in the oil and gas industry. The TH31 transmission with integral dropbox has 335-ghp power at 2,100 rpm, and the TH35 has 475-ghp power at 2,100 rpm. Both models are available in two- and four-wheel-drive configurations. Cat Transmissions with and without an integral dropbox will be sold and serviced through the worldwide Caterpillar dealer organization.
