Equipment companies: 2nd quarter sales up

Construction equipment manufacturers are reporting 2nd quarter sales and revenues increases:

Caterpillar: Sales and revenues are up 37 percent from a year ago. Excluding the impact of the firm’s recent $8.8 billion buy of Bucyrus International, the company has raised expectations for 2011 to $54 to $56 billion of worldwide sales and revenues.

Terex: Sales during the quarter increased about 30 percent from the same period in 2010. Terex also made a recent big buy, purchasing Demag Cranes AG.

Volvo: Net sales rose 32 percent. Volvo full-year forecast for the North American market remains unchanged at a projected increase of 25 to 35 percent.
