A bulldozer operator on a pipeline jobsite in Pennsylvania was killed last week when his machine overturned.
According to a report from The Wellsboro Gazette, 54-year-old Ricky L. Dettman was operating the machine on a steep grade when it overturned and rolled several times August 4.
The dozer returned to an upright position, but Dettman was pronounced dead at the scene, apparently due to head trauma, the Gazette reports. Beyond the grade, it’s unclear exactly what caused the machine to overturn.
The Pennsylvania State Police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
