Dozer offers lower engine emissions and advanced cooling system

Equipped with an 800-net-horsepower Cat C32 ACERT engine and a radiator with improved heat transfer capabilities, Caterpillar”s 854K dozer replaces the 854G as the company”s largest wheeled dozer for heavy-duty applications, such as mining and bulk materials handling. The 854K”s modular radiator has a copper core for greater heat transfer than steel, and its copper fins are copper brazed for high joint integrity. The core allows removal of a single module without removing the entire radiator, which reduces downtime and lowers repair costs. The new model retains some of the same features as the 854G, including the [1]impeller clutch torque converter, the lockup clutch for direct drive efficiency and the STIC control system for reduced steering and transmission control effort.
