Doosan Portable Power names Diesel Machinery as dealer

Doosan Portable Power has named Diesel Machinery Inc. (DMI) of Sioux Falls, S.D., an authorized dealer of its complete portfolio of portable and light construction equipment.

DMI will offer the legacy line of Ingersoll Rand-branded portable air compressors, as well as its full line of mobile generators, light towers and light compaction equipment.

DMI started in 1932 as J.L. Healy Construction Company, a heavy highway and utility construction company. In 1982, the company formed an equipment distributorship, which became DMI. In 1989, the construction company was sold and DMI has since focused on providing quality equipment and service for the South Dakota construction and agriculture markets.

“Our history helps us to understand the needs of our customers,” said Dan Healy, president of DMI and grandson of founder J.L. Healy, in a written statement. “My father, Pat, who ran the construction company for over 30 years is chairman of the board at DMI, and he never lets us forget that issues such as downtime and service are critical to our customers.”

DMI is a full-service equipment provider offering new and used construction equipment, plus rental, parts and service. DMI offers everything from large earthmoving, mining and road equipment, to skid-steer loaders, mini excavators and portable construction equipment.

“Due to the small markets in South Dakota, a distributor has to have a lot of products in its basket,” Healy said. “We chose to add the Doosan Portable Power line because of its reputation and the breadth of the products available to help us round out our basket.”

DMI has three locations — in Sioux Falls, Aberdeen and Rapid City, S.D. — serving all of South Dakota and bordering counties in Minnesota.
