DOOSAN PORTABLE POWER INTRODUCES THE FIRST FOUR GENERATORS OF TIER 4I MOBILE GENERATOR LINEUP

Doosan G325 028 FinalSTATESVILLE, N.C. — Doosan Portable Power now offers four new models in their mobile generator portfolio that have been designed to meet federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 Interim (Tier 4i) emission standards.

The new models launching at Power-Gen International 2011 include:

  • The G150, with a prime power rating at 152 kVA / 122 kW
  • The G190, with a prime power rating at 194 kVA / 155 kW
  • The G240, with a prime power rating at 238 kVA / 190 kW
  • The G325, introduced earlier this year, with a prime power rating at 326 kVA / 261 kW

These new Doosan generators have been substantially redesigned from their predecessors to incorporate numerous innovations based on customer input to improve the operator experience.

Controls are simplified for easy operation. The new operator-preferred analog control panel has been enhanced featuring large, brightly lit meters for at-a-glance monitoring. The onboard engine diagnostic display panel from Doosan now includes the controls and indicators required to operate and maintain the aftertreatment regeneration system that is a key component of the new Tier 4i technology to meet engine emissions. A run/idle switch on the control unit ensures reduced engine wear during startup in extreme cold temperatures. Dual frequency capability is now standard on the Tier 4 portfolio to expand the versatility of the machines to power 50Hz applications with the simple flip of a switch.
All four generators feature a Voltage Selector Switch for quick and easy configuration for the three most common voltages. The signature protection feature on Doosan Portable Power generators prevents operators from switching voltage during operation — a common cause of downtime and expensive component failure.

Connection panels are now more accessible for improved safety and convenience with more power wiring connections available, an optional camlock panel to further expand connection versatility, an array of twist-lock and GFCI receptacles and a terminal board that accepts bare wire or lugged cable. No matter the power need, it’s covered.

Panels are “tool release” to protect against contact with live electrical terminals, and connection areas are illuminated to improve safety during nighttime operation.

Sound levels are reduced by as much as 5 dBA to ensure quiet operation. Because Tier 4i technology increased the cooling needs of the generator, Doosan Portable Power took the Tier changes as an opportunity to develop a completely new and unique approach to package cooling from the ground up.

The rugged enclosure features a revolutionary dual-compartment design, incorporating the powertrain and cooling system into separate compartments. The package design combined with the use of electric cooling fans and a state-of-the-art radial-fan in the new Tier 4i generators yield the lowest sound levels in today’s market without sacrificing performance or reliability — even at extreme temperatures — and all with minimal increase to the generator footprint.

Industry-leading serviceability continues along with Tier 4i technology. The new generators from Doosan Portable Power have 500-hour service intervals. Longer runtime — exceeding 24-hours at any load factor — is ensured with these new units due to increased onboard fuel capacity.

Built with the same rugged reliability, the heavy-gauge galvannealed steel enclosure is finished with a 13-stage powder-coat process to provide the ultimate in corrosion protection, while ensuring super-quiet operation.

The environmental containment system contains and prevents spillage of fuel and oil, while the new enclosure design yields near-zero water ingression into the containment basin, even in the heaviest of rainstorms.

For safe and trouble-free towing, the mobile generator units are built on heavy-duty skid bases and feature the toughest running gear components for on- or off-road transportation.
