Diesel powered Porche

The legendary automaker will have a diesel version of the Cayenne in 2009.

As cool as this may be, one of our friends in the petroleum industry tells us the reason diesel prices shot up higher than gasoline in the last few years is that demand for diesel increased after the EPA mandated “clean diesel” for on-highway trucks in 2006. Once heavy trucks had to compete with automotive users of diesel fuel the price went skyward. And in 2010 off road equipment will join the clean diesel fray. Background on that here.
