JLG and Deutz have announced a partnership that will place engines remanufactured as part of Deutz’s Xchange program inside JLG’s reconditioned aerial work platforms.

JLG’s aftermarket sales VP Christoper Mellott says the company’s reconditioning program follows strict guidelines similar to those of its newly manufactured units. “In the end, customers receive a machine that has the same reliability as a new one,” Mellott said in a statement.

JLG says that when a machine is reconditioned, its engine is replaced or resealed and the machine’s boom is refurbished. JLG sells its refurbished units at about half the cost of its new machines.

Deutz Xchange engines are offered with a three-year transferrable warranty.

The company will supply JLG with Xchange engines through its Pendergrass, Georgia, facility where production has increased from five engines per day to eight. The engines are installed in reconditioned JLG machines at JLG’s Bedford,Pennsylvania, plant.
