Deutz announced this morning that it has entered into a partnership with Hitachi Construction Machinery to supply the Japanese manufacturer with engines for some of its wheel loaders.

According to the announcement, Hitachi began fitting its ZW100 and ZW120 series wheel loaders with Deutz TCD 3.6 engines in April.

Deutz called the partnership and opportunity to expand its international presence, particularly into the Japanese market. The ZW100 and ZW120 series loaders are sold in both the U.S. and Japanese markets.

The TCD 3.6 engine generates between 74 and 120 horsepower at 2,300 rpms. It features a modular exhaust aftertreatment system (DOC) which can be mounted on the engine as an option. The engine meets Tier 4 Interim emissions standards thanks to an oxidizing catalytic converter.
