Demolition Academy precedes NDA’s Annual Convention

The National Demolition Association will offer its 17th Demolition Academy at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio, Texas, March 9-10, immediately preceding the NDA’s Annual Convention. The Demolition Academy is an intensive safety and management training program aimed at professionals involved in all aspects of the demolition process.

On both days, NDA Board Member Mike Casbon and other members of the NDA Safety Committee will teach the “OSHA 10-hour Demolition Specific Program,” which will cover OSHA’s training requirements for the demolition process. The course will examine “Focus Four” hazards, personal protective equipment, health hazards in construction, hand and power tools, scaffolding and safety issues specific to a demolition work site.  In addition, the course offers an OSHA completion card.

On March 9, former NDA President Ray Passeno will present “Industrial Hygiene 101,” followed by “Universal Waste Identification, Removal, Packaging and Disposal,” instructed by NDA Environmental Committee Chair Jason Haus.

March 10, Purdue University assistant professor and author Mark Shaurette will teach “Project Management.”
