DANA INTRODUCES COMPACT SPICER® MODEL 110 AXLE CUSTOMIZED FOR TWO- TO FOUR-TON CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES

LAS VEGAS, March 11, 2008 Today at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008, Dana Holding Corporation introduced the Spicer® Model 110 (17R008) axle, a compact axle for two- to four-ton vehicles.  This axle features a modular design that improves reliability and allows for installation on a wide variety of hydrostatic-drive construction and material-handling vehicles.

 

The Spicer Model 110 (17R008) axle has rapidly become an extremely successful component in Europe,Âť said Gabriele DiGennaro, product manager for the Dana Off-Highway Products Group.  Suitable for site dumpers as well as compact front-end loaders and other construction utility vehicles, this axle demonstrates Dana™s ability to produce quality drivetrain components for price-sensitive, specialized vehicle markets.Âť

 

The Spicer Model 110 (17R008) axle is a double-reduction rigid axle rated at 800 daNm maximum output torque, providing a 3600 daN dynamic load capacity.  This axle includes hydraulically applied wet disc service brakes, a mechanical parking brake with levers, a standard or 45-percent limited-slip differential, a 1270 to 1530 mm flange-to-flange range, and an 11.9-to-15.4 axle ratio range.  A modified, drive-steer version of this axle will also be offered in late 2008.
