Cop working construction zone dragged by vehicle

work zone signA police officer working in a construction zone in Wayland, Massachusetts was injured recently after being dragged by a vehicle for several feet.

According to the Boston Globe, Sgt. Jennifer Ordway was out of her vehicle in the construction zone on Route 30 when she started talking to the driver of a vehicle through the passenger window.

The driver of the car, William E. Prewitt, began to drive forward and Ordway was dragged between 5 and 15 feet until a second Wayland police officer got the driver to stop.

Ordway was treated at the scene and transported to Metrowest Medical Center Natick with minor injuries.

Prewitt, 20, was charged with operating to endanger and failure to stop for police.
