Construction worker killed after being backed over by dump truck in Maine

Rear of dump truckA construction worker in Maine was killed earlier this week when he was backed over by a dump truck.

According to a report from WGME TV, Maine State Police identified the worker as 50-year-old James Woodward. Woodward was working on a road work zone in York on the Maine Turnpike when he was backed up over by a dump truck driven by a co-worker.

Both Woodward and the man driving the truck, Garry Johnson, worked for Shaw Brothers Construction. Police told the station that Woodward was in Johnson’s blind spot and they don’t except to file any charges.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
