Construction industry’s year-over-year fuel consumption sees first dip since Sept. 2012

biofuel-pumpWEX recently released its construction fuel consumption index for June, showing the first year-over-year decline since Sept. 2012.

The index measures national fuel consumption statistics for the construction industry to provide an month-to-month measure of construction activity in the United States.

The index showed a decrease of 0.6 percent in fuel consumption by the construction industry since June 2012, indicating a slowing in activity. However, month-to-month numbers showed an increase of 0.8 percent.
