For having such a dirty reputation, the construction industry is a lot greener than many thought–accounting for less than one-percent of greenhouse gasses. That’s the word from the Associated General Contractors of America in their analysis of EPA data ^[1]. Other highlights in the report include the fact that the construction industry recycles 97.5 percent of its structural steel, 65 percent of reinforcing steel and 80 percent of asphalt.
