McLaughlin, Central Hall, booth 31125
On display will be the company’s second generation vacuum excavator series, featuring efficient and clean-burning engines, improved sound reduction and operator-friendly enhancements. The VX 50-500 vacuum excavator has a Tier 4 Final engine, soundproofing inside the heavy-gauge engine enclosure, a large access door to the engine enclosure and an improved external hydraulic door that opens at an 85-degree angle for easier spoils tank dumping. A mechanical cam-over locking system provides a 360-degree positive door seal. The vacuum excavator has a low profile design that measures less than six feet in height.
Superior Industries, Central Hall booth 51838 and Platinum Lot booth 7602
Material handling systems and components manufacturer Superior Industries will launch new material handling, conveying and processing innovations, including the TeleStacker Conveyor with new XTP Axle. The 36-inch by 150-foot telescoping radial stacking conveyor is rated for 1,000-tph capacities. A new XTP axle cuts the setup time to less than two minutes, which is more than an 80-percent reduction over conventional swing-axle units. New power travel eliminates time-consuming chain installation, and a pivoting waling beam results in true tire alignment with a radial travel path that eliminates tire scuffing while maintaining the conveyor feet point to prevent potential spillage. The conveyor will be on display in the Platinum Lot, booth 7602. Also on display: Razer Tail truck unloader, a new portable screening plant and a new Zipline conveyor.
Doosan Portable Power, Gold Lot booth 1501
Both current and new products will be on display at the show, including mobile generators, portable air compressors and light towers. Doosan Portable Power will launch the industry’s first Tier 4 Final air compressor in both the P185 and C185 models. The compressor delivers 100 psi at 185 cfm for a range of applications including powering handheld air tools, sandblasting, cable laying and pipeline testing. The compressors feature a 49-horsepower Deutz D2.9 L4 electronic engine with a DOC only aftertreatment, ensuring 9 and 7 horse run time at 100-percent load, respectively. A new control panel features an LED backlit display that enables operators to easily view multiple machine parameters including ambient temperature, engine oil pressure, percent engine load and airend temperature. A user-friendly push-button start and simple switch function ensure easy operability.
JCB, Gold Lot booth 1559
Adding to the Hi-Viz loadall range, JCB will launch the 525-60 compact telehandler at the show. Featuring a 20-foot maximum lift height and 5,500-pound load capacity, the 525-60 is just 5 feet 10 inches wide and 6 feet 3 inches tall. The unit, which has a side-engine mount design, replaces the 524-50, 527-55 and 520-50 rear engine models. The engine design permits a low boom pivot point for maximum stability and increased visibility to the rear and across the boom. The Tier 4 Final 2.5-liter JCB Diesel by Kohler four-cylinder engine delivers 74 horsepower. Equipped with a 21-gpm hydraulic pump, the machine delivers auxiliary hydraulic power for a sideshift attachment carriage. Boom functions are controlled by a single servo lever joystick with proportional control of the two-stage boom extension that allows smooth operation and fine control for the operator.
Manitowoc, Gold Lot booth 2137
Eight new cranes will be on display, including two new crawler cranes. Manitowoc’s Grove, National Crane and Potain brands will also have products featured at the show. Grove’s RT770E and RT540 mobile cranes will make their North American debut. The GMK all-terrain cranes featured include the GMK6300L and the GMK6400. Two new boom trucks by National Crane will be in the booth, including the 60-ton-capacity NBT60, which features a 128-foot boom while remaining roadable without the need for additional permits. Potain will feature the new MR 418 luffing jib tower crane, which can be fitted with a 270-horsepower 320 LVF 120 hoist. Built on the same chassis as the existing diesel and dual fuel SJ6832 RT units, the new electric RT scissor lifts allows operators to experience a seamless transition to the new unit. Also on display: Tier 4 Final telescopic booms.
Tadano America, Gold Lot booth 2101
Tadano will unveil the new GR 1600XL-2 rough terrain crane. The 160-ton, 3-axle crane includes asymmetrical multi-position outrigger setup, an automatic moment limiter and the ECO-mode and positive control systems that reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. SmicoSymons, Platinum Lot booth 90710
In collaboration with Advanced Screening Technologies, SmicoSymons will exhibit the screening industry’s first hydraulically operated opening and closing clamp rail system for fast change outs of worn or broken tensioned screen media on one or more decks simultaneously. With a push of one or more buttons, clamp rails on selected decks or all decks will hydraulically open. Once the replacement media is in place, the clamp rails will be tightened and closed to the specified distance from screen box walls until they achieve the proper even tension.
