A massive concrete beam collapsed at a jobsite in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Monday, killing one construction worker and injuring two others.

Police told Local 10, the city’s ABC affiliate, that the beam collapsed shortly before 8 a.m. Monday at the construction site for a BMW dealership. According to the report, the beam struck all three workers when it fell.

The workers were transported to Broward Health Medical Center where 30-year-old Jose Alfredo Isagirrez-Mejia was pronounced dead. Sneidjer Rodriguez, 25, and Ronaldy Najeras, 45, were still in the hospital as of Tuesday but were expected to fully recover from their injuries.

It’s unclear what caused the beam to collapse but police and Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials are investigating the incident.
