Cities seeing project prices drop

Lower material prices, a drop in fuel costs and the overall economic slowdown are causing a sharp drop in bid prices on construction projects, reports the Dallas Morning News [1].
With fewer projects to bid on, and lower costs on steel, iron, asphalt and roofing materials, contractors are bidding “bargain basement prices” on municipal and school projects, often resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings on the project.
