Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) and Catholic Charities of North Dakota are coordinating with local organizations and preparing to assist with the impact of flooding in Minot.

“Thousands of people have evacuated and many are expected to lose their homes,” says Kathleen Rae King, senior vice president of external relations at CCUSA. “Once the immediate needs of Minot residents are met, they face an extensive rebuilding process that will require ongoing support.”

CCUSA and local Catholic Charities agencies are still in the process of rebuilding the lives and homes of Joplin, Mo., residents, while serving the flood-impacted areas of Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee, as well as various tornado-impacted communities across the country.

The impending Minot disaster — and projected recovery period — create a huge need for financial donations.

Catholic Charities of North Dakota will provide immediate relief to disaster victims in Minot, which will include food, shelter, utility assistance and other key services.
